I just discovered the magical artwork of Sean Avery, who recycles CDs and gives them new life, in the form of gorgeous sculptures.

This display of creativity with musical undertones definitely earns its place as a Visual Arts Spotlight.

Avery also makes sculptures with other recycled media such as paper, wire and microchips.

Here are just a few samples of his amazing work! I hope all you music- and art-loving folks out there enjoy it as much as I do.

Formerly of the band The Courage, Noah Gundersen is now paving his own way as an up and coming solo artist - a mulit-talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player in a unique genre that is hard to define (though it comes closest to folk/indie). Gundersen’s newest EP, Family, was released this past August and is already stirring up interest in a myriad of musical minds. The style Noah exhibits on Family has been compared to the likes of Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, and The Fleet Foxes, and has the comforting feel of real music from the heart. Indeed, the songs on Family tell of the importance of family members and how they shape your life - Noah’s sister, Abby Gundersen (also from The Courage), fittingly plays violin and sings harmonies on many of the tracks, adding to the EP’s authentic feel.

One thing is certain: we love Noah Gundersen, and believe he is surely on his way to high places. Be sure to check out his music and let us know if you agree!
